According to sources, singer Krishnakumar Kunnath, also known as KK, died of a massive heart attack, as per a preliminary post-mortem report.

SSKM hospital stated in their preliminary report to the Kolkata Police that the singer died as a result of a’myocardial infarction,’ also known as a heart attack.

Nothing “unnatural in terms of death” was found in the preliminary report.

Previously, the Kolkata Police had filed an unnatural death investigation into the singer’s death. His face and head were injured, according to police sources.

After returning from a show in Kolkata on Tuesday, May 31, the singer collapsed at the Grand Hotel, which is located near the New Market police station, and was rushed to a private city hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

In 72 hours, the concluding autopsy report will be made public.

Besides that, several people who have attended KK’s concert claimed that the auditorium was packed to capacity and that the heat was unbearable.

A video of KK sweating profusely and complaining about the heat surfaced hours after his death.

Condolences have started pouring in for the singer on Twitter, with people conveying utter disbelief at his sudden death.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi took to Twitter to say, “Saddened by the untimely demise of noted singer Krishnakumar Kunnath popularly known as KK. His songs reflected a wide range of emotions as struck a chord with people of all age groups. We will always remember him through his songs. Condolences to his family and fans. Om Shanti.”
