Aryan Khan who was arrested in the Mumbai cruise drugs case, was recently counselled in the custody of the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB). Reportedly, Aryan Khan has promised Sameer Wankhede, zonal director of NCB’s Mumbai unit, that he would do good work and make him proud one day.
The 23-year-old promised that he would help people from weaker sections of society. A source from NCB reported that Aryan has promised to be a good man after getting out of jail during the counselling. Aryan Khan and the others arrested in the case were counselled by NGO workers and NCB officials including Sameer Wankhede.
Aryan was sent to 14-day judicial custody on October 7. He was shifted from NCB custody to Arthur Road Jail in Mumbai the next day. Aryan Khan was arrested after Sameer Wankhede led NCB to conduct a raid on the Cordelia Cruises’ Empress ship off the coast of Mumbai on October 2. A rave party was allegedly taking place on the ship and Aryan Khan was on board. However, as per NCB official no drugs were found on him.
NCB seized 13 grams of cocaine, 5 grams of MD, 21 grams of charas, 22 pills of MDMA (ecstasy) and Rs 1.33 lakh in cash during the raid.
Seven others including Munmun Dhamecha, Arbaaz Merchant, Ismeet Singh, Mohak Jaswal, Gomit Chopra, Nupur Satija, and Vikrant Chhokar were arrested with Aryan Khan. A total of twenty people have been arrested in the case, including foreign nationals and alleged drug peddlers.
Aryan Khan applied for bail in a special NDPS court in Mumbai. However, during the last hearing on October 14, the judge reserved his order. The next hearing will not be before October 20.
