Prime Minister Narendra Modi hoisted National Flag for the eighth straight time at the Red Fort on the occasion of 75th Independence Day. Only former Prime Ministers Jawaharlal Nehru (17), Indira Gandhi (16) and Manmohan Singh (10) have hoisted the National Flag at Red Fort on Independence Day more times than PM Modi. The Prime Minister on Sunday also paid tribute to Mahatma Gandhi at Rajghat.

Prime Minister wished his countrymen on ‘Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav’ on twitter too. “Greetings to you all on Independence Day. May this year of the ‘Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav’ infuse new energy and new consciousness among the countrymen. Jai Hind!” wrote PM Modi.

The PM addressed the nation from the Red fort saying “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas and Sabka Prayas is our new motto.” He emphasized the importance of Atmanirbhar Bharat by saying “It’s important..for building Atmanirbhar Bharat of our dreams. Our goal is to develop a nation…where we not only have world-class infrastructure but also move ahead with ‘minimum government, maximum governance’ mantra.”

The Prime Minister started his speech by conveying his greetings on this special occasion of Independence Day. He then lauded the personalities who have contributed to the freedom struggle of India and said, “This is a day to remember our great freedom fighters.”

He then thanked Covid warriors who fought against the pandemic bravely. “Doctors, nurses, paramedical staff, sanitation workers, scientists and the citizens who were working with a sense of service – all those who devoted every moment to serve others in this period, deserve applause,” the PM said.

PM Modi also urged the nation to appreciate the achievement of the athletes who have made India proud at Tokyo Olympics. They have not only won our hearts but also inspired future generations, he said.

PM said it’s a matter of pride that India’s daughters are giving a splendid performance – be it Boards examinations or Olympics.

PM Narendra Modi also made abig decision of opening all sainik schools for girls across the country. He added that it will strengthen the ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padhao’ initiative and that lakhs of girls had written to him requesting him to open sainik schools for them.

Giving the status of vaccination drive in India he said, “We can proudly say that the largest Covid-19 vaccination program is being run in India today. More than 54 crore people have received vaccine doses so far.”

The PM also said that a decision has been taken to observe August 14 as Partition Horrors Remembrance Day, to honour the pain and sufferings faced by the people of India during the partition.

Prime Minister gave a new moto of ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas and Sabka Prayaas (Cooperation, development, trust and effort put by all)’ which he said is very important for the achievement of all our goals.

He also revealed that the Delimitation Commission has been constituted in Jammu and Kashmir and preparations are on for assembly elections in the future.

He also emphasized on the reservation which was recently granted to OBCs, under all-India quota, in medical education. States have been granted right to make their own OBC lists, the PM said.

PM Modi also spoke about the infrastructural development in the country saying “In past few years, facilities like road and electricity have reached villages. Today, optical fiber network is providing the power of data to villages, internet is reaching there; digital entrepreneurs are getting ready in villages too.” “We have to work together for the next-generation infrastructure, world-class manufacturing, cutting innovations and new-age technology,” he added.

Talking about the farmers Prime minister emphasized on importance of increasing the collective power of the small farmers of the country “We have to give them new facilities. They must become the country’s pride,” he said. Our mantra is ‘Chhota kisan bane desh ki shaan’ he added.

PM Modi also snounced his PM Gati Shakti Plan. It is a 100 lakh crore national infrastructure master plan which will make a foundation for holistic infrastructure and give an integrated pathway to our economy.

PM also announced that 75 Vande Bharat trains will connect every corner of India in 75 weeks of Amrit Mahotsav of Independence.

He urged the countrymen to pledge to make India energy independent before completing 100 years of independence. “India has moved towards electric mobility and work is underway on 100% electrification of Indian Railways with the aim to becoming net-zero carbon emitter by the year 2030,” PM said at the Red Fort.

In view of climate change PM also announced the National Hydrogen Mission. He stressed on the importance of making India a hub for production and export of Green Hydrogen.

Talking about New India he said “By conducting surgical strikes and airstrikes, we have given a message of the emergence of a new India to our enemies. It also conveys that India can take tough decisions.”
