The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), the Union Information and Broadcasting Ministry, and the directors of “Laal Singh Chadha” and “Shabash Mithu” have all been asked to speak on the issue by the court of commissioner for persons with disabilities, based on the notice.
Laal Singh Chadha and Shabash Mithu, two Bollywood movies, are the targets of a complaint. It was brought before the court of commissioner for persons with disabilities for allegedly making fun of individuals with disabilities.
Dr Satendra Singh who filed the complaint and co-founder of Doctors with Disabilities has given a copy of the notice the court of the commissioner issued in response to his complaint. Dr Singh also has a 70% locomotor handicap.
According to the lawsuit, the films’ disparaging statements against individuals with special needs violate the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016’s requirements.
