India’s enduring film legend Dilip Kumar was buried with complete state honours. The legendary actor of Indian cinema was laid to rest at the Juhu Qabrastan at around 5 pm by his family members as the entire nation mourned the death of the legend whose death marks the end of an era in Indian cinema.
Dilip Sahab’s many industry colleagues including bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan, who was like a son to Dilip Sahab, visited Saira Banu to comfort her as she mourned the loss of her husband.
Amitabh Bacchan also attended Dilip Kumar’s funeral and paid his last tribute to the legendary actor
Dilip Kumar who passed away at the Hinduja Hospital Mumbai, on 7th of July 2021 left a legacy of unmatchable cinema career. His screen aura, his presence in the industry, and hundreds of movies which form the institution of acting will never be forgotten.
He was 98 when he breathed his last. A tweet from his official Twitter handle revealed the details about his burial. The legendary actor was surrounded by his family members including his wife, Saira Banu, as he succumbed to lungs infection.
Veteran actor Dharmendra also reached Dilip Kumar’s residence to pay his last respects to the legendary actor. The two actors had worked in many movies together including Jwaar Bhata (1973), Anokha Milan (1972), and Paari (1966).
Anupam Kher, Vidya Balan, Her husband and producer Siddharth Roy Kapur, Filmmaker Karan Johar, actor and comedian Johnny Lever, Raza Murad, Ranbir Kapoor and Shah Rukh Khan were among the members of film fraternity to reach Actor’s residence to pay their last respect.
Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackeray and NCP Chief Sharad Pawar also visited Dilip Kumar’s residence to pay their last respects to the legendary actor. The pictures showing them comforting a grieving Saira Banu were released online.
Dilip Kumar’s mortal remains were wrapped in tricolor as the legendary actor began his journey to the heavenly abode. He was buried at Juhu Qabrastan with full state honours.
