Tata IPL Auction 2022, Day 2 Highlights: PBKS buy Liam Livingstone for Rs 11.50 crore; Rahane joins KKR | Cricket News – India TV

On February 13 (Sunday), the IPL 2022 Mega Auction closed, with many cricketers becoming billionaires.

There were, however, some unexpected rejections. We’ve compiled a list of the ten biggest stars that didn’t get a deal at the auction. Take a look here.

SURESH RAINA

Season after season, Suresh Raina had won matches for CSK and was named Mr. IPL, but he failed to find a buyer in the IPL 2022 Mega Auction.

Raina has gone without being sold for the first time in IPL history. His starting price was set at Rs 2 crore.

One of the most shocking decision of the mega auctions.

SAURABH TIWARY

For years, Tiwary had been with the Mumbai Indians for half a crore.

During games, he’d meander around the Wankhede boundary and occasionally come over as a substitute fielder.

His early hype was never matched by his performance; his IPL career strike-rate is 120.

Franchisees soon realized to limit their expectations.

IMRAN TAHIR

At 42 years old, Imran Tahir was the oldest player in the big auction.

He, too, went unsold because franchises believe his services are no longer needed.

Imran spent a couple seasons at CSK. His starting price was set at Rs 2 crore.

EOIN MORGAN

Eoin Morgan was a total shock!

In IPL 2021, he took KKR to the final, and in 2022, he will not play for any IPL team.

His starting bid was Rs 1.5 crore. It’s possible that his poor bat performance may have led to this.

STEVE SMITH

Steve Smith’s has failed to make an impact in T20s and it is reflected in the way franchises regard him.

Teams thought his basic price of Rs 2 crore was too expensive, thus he went unsold.
