Raj Kundra was detained in July 2021 on suspicion of creating and disseminating pornographic information via mobile apps. He was charged for allegedly disseminating or transmitting sexually explicit recordings under the appropriate provisions of the Indian Penal Code, the Indecent Representation of Women (Prevention Act), and the Information Technology Act. The police also searched Raj Kundra’s Juhu house and offices in Mumbai. In September, bail was granted to Raj Kundra.
