If a fan of Archie comics or Netflix’s Riverdale here is great news for you. India will soon have its own version of a show based on the comics. Yes you heard that right Zoya Akhtar will be directing the project and reportedly Shah Rukh Khan’s daughter, Suhana Khan and Sridevi and Boney Kapoor’s younger daughter, Khushi Kapoor will make their acting debut with the series.
Opening about his daughter’s plans to be an actress Shah Rukh Khan had earlier said “I have big faith in the fact that girls actually don’t need any help. They are so wonderfully self-empowered and I’m assuming and hoping that my daughter is exactly the same as any other girl.”
Ever since Shah Rukh revealed that Suhana wants to be an actress there has been a lot of speculation around her acting debut. Suhana has been doing theatre for a while now and was also a part of a short film that surfaced on the internet last year. However being a part of the series bound for OTT platform will make Suhana an official part of the industry. The final paper work will be done once Suhana and her father Shah Rukh Khan okay the bound script for launch.
Casting Suhana and Khushi as BFFs Betty and Veronica, Zoya is all set to bring some young and refreshing talent to the OTT platforms.
While the report says this casting is finalised, the actors for Archie and Jughead are still not decided upon. A source did add that Ibrahim Ali Khan is being considered for Archie but there is no definitive news on the same as of now.
