Actress Vidya Balan whose film Sherni released on Amazon Prime video today talked about her other projects. When asked about what are her plans for the book on Indira Gandhi whose rights she bought more than 3 years ago she said,”For now there are no updates on that, unfortunately! When there is I would happy to share but as of now, I think the pandemic has just slowed things down.”
Vidya had earlier revealed that she had plans to turn the story into a web series, however, ever since the confirmation in April 2019, there have been no updates regarding the series.
In an interview in 2019 the Vidya had opened about the process of making the series, she said, “There’s so much material when it comes to someone like Indiraji, and we are going through a lot of it.”
The series would be based on journalist Sagarika Ghose’s book, Indira: India’s Most Powerful Prime Minister and will feature the Emergency, Indira’s failed marriage, and her personal life. It will be produced by Ronnie Screwvala.
