The film, which delves into the life of former Indian football coach Syed Abdul Rahim, has been accused of plagiarism by a Karnataka-based scriptwriter, leading to a halt in its release ordered by the Mysore court.
The court’s decision comes in response to allegations made by scriptwriter Anil Kumar, who claims that the makers of ‘Maidaan’ plagiarized his script. In a statement issued by Zee Studios and Boney Kapoor’s Bayview Projects LLP, they expressed their intention to appeal against the court’s order, emphasizing that they were not given an opportunity to present their side of the story before the decision was made.
