The legendary Kannada actress, Leelavathi, breathed her last at a private hospital in Bengaluru, succumbing to age-related ailments. The news was confirmed by her son, actor Vinod Raj, who expressed gratitude to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Deputy CM D K Shivakumar for facilitating her hospitalization. Leelavathi, a stalwart in the film industry, had an illustrious career, having worked in over 600 films across languages such as Tamil, Telugu, and Kannada.
