The eagerly awaited film starring Katrina Kaif and Vijay Sethupathi, aptly titled ‘Merry Christmas,’ has secured its release date, now slated for January 12, 2024, after a series of postponements. Initially expected to hit theaters around Christmas, the shift was strategic, steering clear of potential clashes with other film releases.

A freshly unveiled poster, featuring the dynamic duo of Katrina and Vijay, adds to the anticipation. The visual narrative captures Katrina seated in a restaurant, while Vijay discreetly keeps a watchful eye from an adjacent table. Radhika Apte, who plays a pivotal role in the movie, excitedly shared the new poster on Instagram, declaring, “The wait is almost over! ‘Merry Christmas’ is set to make your winter merrier on January 12, 2024.”

Katrina Kaif also took to her Instagram Stories to share another intriguing poster. This one portrays Vijay deep in thought, surrounded by three portraits of Katrina strategically placed on the wall behind him. The film’s journey to release has been marked by several delays, originally poised for a clash with Sidharth Malhotra’s ‘Yodha’ on December 8. However, both films adjusted their schedules to avoid overlapping with Ranbir Kapoor’s ‘Animal,’ hitting theaters on December 1.

Directed by Sriram Raghavan, renowned for ‘Andhadhun,’ ‘Merry Christmas’ is a project close to the hearts of its creators. In a joint statement, the team expressed their deep love and commitment to delivering an exceptional cinematic experience. The statement explained, “We have made this film with a lot of love & passion…we have taken the decision to extend the season of joy and bring our film to theaters on 12th January 2024.”

Produced by Ramesh Taurani, Jaya Taurani, Sanjay Routray, and Kewal Garg, ‘Merry Christmas’ is a collaborative effort under the banners of Tips Films and Matchbox Pictures, promising audiences a delightful cinematic treat in the new year.”
