The Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) encountered a setback in their IPL 2024 journey as their Indian fast bowler, Shivam Mavi, was ruled out of the tournament due to injury. Mavi, whose participation was eagerly anticipated after being acquired for a substantial sum of INR 6.4 crores in the auction, expressed his disappointment in a heartfelt video shared by the franchise on Instagram. However, the specifics of Mavi’s injury were not disclosed in the video.
“I will miss [the tournament] a lot. I had come here after an injury and had thought I would play matches for my team and do well. But unfortunately, I will have to leave because I have suffered an injury,” Mavi expressed in the video, reflecting the disappointment of missing out on the tournament.
“A cricketer has to be mentally strong for this. If you have an injury, you need to see what you have to do to make a comeback, what things you need to take care of,” he added, highlighting the importance of mental resilience in the face of setbacks.
