In a cinematic triumph, Ranbir Kapoor’s much-debated film, ‘Animal,’ directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, has stormed past the domestic Rs 450 crore mark and the global Rs 750 crore milestone within its 12 days of release.
The box office saga continued on the 12th day as ‘Animal’ showcased resilience, posting a marginal dip in revenue, with around Rs 13 crore on its second Tuesday, following a Monday collection of Rs 13.8 crore. Notably, the film achieved a historic feat with the highest second-weekend earnings in Hindi movie history, amassing a total of Rs 87 crore.
As it stands, ‘Animal’ has etched its name in the record books with a cumulative collection of Rs 458 crore in India. The film’s trajectory signals an imminent surge beyond the Rs 500 crore mark domestically before the approaching weekend, marking its final opportunity for a stellar performance. This achievement would position ‘Animal’ as the fourth Hindi film of the year to breach the Rs 500 crore milestone, joining the ranks of ‘Pathaan,’ ‘Gadar 2,’ and ‘Jawan.’
However, the looming presence of Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Dunki’ and Prabhas’ ‘Salaar,’ slated for release on December 21 and 22, respectively, poses a competitive challenge. With the global gross collections presently standing at a formidable Rs 750 crore, ‘Animal’ aims to bridge the gap of approximately Rs 250- Rs 300 crore to match the records set by ‘Pathaan’ and ‘Jawan.’ The cinematic spectacle continues to captivate audiences, setting the stage for a thrilling climax to ‘Animal’s’ remarkable box office journey.
