However, on the fourth day, the Meghna Gulzar-directed film experienced a slight downturn, raking in ₹3.50 crore on Monday. This brings its cumulative collection to ₹29.05 crore. Despite its commendable run, the biopic chronicling the life of India’s first Field Marshal, Sam Manekshaw, faces a formidable challenge from Animal, featuring Ranbir Kapoor and Rashmika Mandanna, directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga. Both films premiered on December 1, with Animal dominating the domestic box office, amassing an impressive ₹241.66 crore in just four days.
Bollywood trade analyst Taran Adarsh, commenting on Sam Bahadur’s performance on the third day, stated on X (formerly known as Twitter), “Sam Bahadur stands on its feet, despite a hurricane called Animal….
Expressing a strategic observation, Adarsh added, “A solo release would’ve benefited the film tremendously since Animal has eroded its business… The weekend numbers would have been higher than what it is today, had it averted this clash.” Despite the clash, Sam Bahadur remains resilient, and its day-wise growth, particularly in key metropolitan areas, reflects positive audience reception.
