The two IAS officers have been transferred out of Delhi to Ladakh and Arunachal Pradesh, respectively, hours after press reports identified blatant misuse of the Thyagraj Stadium by Delhi’s Principal Secretary (Revenue) Sanjeev Khirwar & his wife Rinku Dugga.
The factual situation was reported to the MHA by the chief secretary in the evening, urging the ministry to order their transfer.
According to sources, based on the report, necessary action will be taken. Their new postings will come into force rapidly, which will be in mandate till further orders, that further stated.
The Indian Express reported earlier on Thursday (May 26) that, citing athletes who train at the Delhi government-run facility, that athletes were being forced to finish training early so that Khirwar, a native of the city, could take a walk with his pet inside the ground.
The couple can be seen walking with their dog on what appears to be an athletics track in a viral photo.
Following widespread outrage, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government of the Union territory issued a directive stating that all sports facilities under its jurisdiction will now be open until 10 p.m. for trainees to undergo training.
