In a daring heist in Ghaziabad’s Nandgrams Sevanagar colony, thieves seized the opportunity to break into a locked residence in the early hours of Monday. The homeowners, away attending a relative’s marriage in Haryana, returned to a ransacked house and reported the incident to the police on Monday.

Himanshu Garg, a disc jockey (DJ) and a resident of the targeted house, narrated the shocking discovery upon his return from Delhi, where he had gone for his cousin’s wedding. “When I reached my house on Monday morning, the main door was open, and the lock lay near the gate. All items were scattered, the almirah was opened, and Rs 40,000 cash, jewellery worth Rs 10 lakhs, and my music system were missing,” he recounted.

Acting on the complaint, ACP Nandgram Ravi Kumar stated that an FIR has been registered against unknown individuals under theft and house-breaking sections of the Indian Penal Code. Two investigative teams have been deployed to unravel the case.

Initial findings from the investigation revealed that the burglars entered the house around 2 am on Monday and exited an hour later. A crucial piece of evidence is a CCTV footage capturing four suspects, leading authorities to express confidence in their imminent arrest.

This incident adds to a string of recent burglaries in the region, with criminals taking advantage of unoccupied homes. The police are urging residents to remain vigilant and take necessary precautions to secure their properties.
