In the heart of east Delhi’s Ghazipur area, tragedy struck on Wednesday morning as Saurabh Kumar, a 27-year-old operator at a local waste-to-energy plant, lost his life in a targeted attack. The incident unfolded as Saurabh, accompanied by colleagues Chander Prakash and two others, was driving his Hyundai Aura car at 6 am. The assailants, riding a motorcycle, intercepted them near Ghazipur Dairy Farm.

In a ruthless act, Saurabh fell victim to a fatal gunshot to the head, leading to his immediate demise. Despite valiant efforts by his colleagues to capture the assailants, they managed to flee the scene successfully. The police are actively investigating the motive behind this brutal murder, leaning towards the possibility of personal enmity. As part of their inquiry, Chander Prakash and the other occupants of the car have been questioned.

Saurabh Kumar, a recent groom, shared a rented accommodation with his wife in east Delhi’s Mayur Vihar. His educational background included the completion of a polytechnic course at a college in Meerut, and he had dedicated several years of service to the waste-to-energy plant.
