She is in Mumbai and says that she is craving Chhath Puja’s prasad, which is cooked during the celebrations at her home. “There are Chhath Puja songs that are only sung during the festivities. In Mumbai, I sometimes just sit quietly or stand at my door thinking that I might hear some family in the neighbourhood singing the puja songs, so I can join them or at least get the prasad,” says the actress, who is popular for her shows like Bhabi Ji Ghar Par Hain and Bas Ek Chand Mera Bi .
While Rishikaa Singh Chandel says that she misses being with her family on Chhath Puja, she also reminisces her childhood days when she would go to her grandparents’ house for Chhath. “The entire village was like one family, and everyone would come together to do rituals, fast and be part of festivities and preparations that would start after Diwali. I can’t forget how much fun it used to be. When I grew up, we would be in Patna for Chhath Puja, and even when I came to Mumbai, I would make sure to travel home to be with my family. But the pandemic has changed things now,” says Rishikaa Singh Chandel, adding that she is missing the vibes that one could feel in Patna on Chhath Puja.
