Shah Rukh Khan’s latest venture, “Dunki,” directed by Rajkumar Hirani, is navigating a shift in advance booking trends as it enters the regular workweek, experiencing a 68% drop after the festive Christmas period. Despite this, there’s no cause for concern, as the film has already proven its success.
“Dunki,” crafted on a modest budget of 120 crores, has surpassed expectations, achieving this figure during its extended opening weekend. As the film enters its sixth day, there is a noticeable decline in advance booking collections at the box office, but the overall outlook remains positive.
To date, “Dunki” has amassed an impressive 128.63 crores* at the Indian box office since its release on December 21, 2023. The movie faced stiff competition during its debut from Prabhas & Prashanth Neel’s “Salaar,” released on December 22, 2023, and “Animal,” which continues to draw audiences despite limited screens. Shah Rukh Khan’s starrer, however, has managed to maintain a robust performance at the ticket windows, defying challenges and sustaining a commendable run.
