The sixth day at the box office for the sports drama “Mr. and Mrs. Mahi,” directed by Sharan Sharma, witnessed a downturn in collections, with earnings falling below the ₹2 crore mark. Despite backing from Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions and its release on May 31, the film struggled to maintain momentum in its earnings throughout the week.

Rajkummar Rao’s portrayal of a supportive husband coaching his wife, portrayed by Janhvi Kapoor, in cricket forms the crux of the story. However, the film’s performance at the Indian box office has been lackluster, with a mere ₹1 crore earned on Wednesday, bringing its total collections to around ₹22.60 crore.

The film’s opening day figures of ₹6.75 crore remain unmatched, and it is yet to achieve double-digit earnings. Notably, Monday saw a slight uptick with ₹2.15 crore, but day 5 marked its lowest collection at ₹1.85 crore. Wednesday’s occupancy rate stood at 11.31% for the Hindi version.

Directed by Sharan Sharma, “Mr. and Mrs. Mahi” revolves around a couple’s shared passion for cricket, with Janhvi Kapoor’s character, Mahima, transitioning from a doctor to a cricketer under the guidance of her husband, Mahendra, portrayed by Rajkummar Rao. The film also features Rajesh Sharma, Kumud Mishra, and Zarina Wahab. This project marks the second collaboration between Janhvi Kapoor and Sharan Sharma after “Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl.”
