Following the tragic school bus accident in Mahendragarh, Haryana, state officials and law enforcement are actively responding to the situation. Education Minister Seema Trikha has already departed for Mahendragarh to assess the situation firsthand.
According to reports from the scene, one of the injured students has alleged that the bus driver was intoxicated and driving at a speed of 120 kmph, resulting in the accident. Medical examinations are underway to determine if the driver was indeed under the influence of alcohol.
Authorities are also investigating the fitness of the bus, with reports indicating that its certificate expired six years ago. Despite the Eid-ul-Fitr holiday, the school was in operation at the time of the incident.
Haryana Education Minister has been in touch with the local authorities, including the deputy commissioner and Mahendergarh SP, to coordinate efforts and ensure the well-being of the students receiving treatment in the hospital.
It has been revealed that the school where the accident occurred is owned by Rajendra Lodha, a BJP leader and former chairman of the Kanina municipal committee. The investigation into the incident and the responsibilities of the school authorities are currently underway.
