In a recent interview, Sharmin Segal, known for her role in the Netflix series Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar, reminisced about her amusing encounter with Bollywood superstar Salman Khan. The actor, who happens to be filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s niece, shared an endearing anecdote from her childhood involving Khan.
Segal fondly recounted her first meeting with Salman Khan, which took place on the sets of the iconic film Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam. According to Segal, she was merely a toddler of two or three when Khan, in a playful manner, jokingly proposed marriage to her. Reflecting on the incident, Segal humorously mentioned how she responded with a firm “No” to Khan’s proposal, indicating her lack of understanding of the concept of marriage at that tender age.
Recalling the incident with a hint of amusement, Segal admitted that, as a child, she tended to reject everything presented to her. Despite her early rejection of Khan’s proposal, Segal confessed to still being a fan of his work, particularly mentioning her admiration for his hit song “O O Jaane Jaana” from the movie Pyaar Kiya To Darna Kya.
Interestingly, Segal tied the knot with businessman Aman Mehta in November 2023, marking a significant contrast to her childhood response to marriage proposals.
