In an operation conducted in the Samno area of south Kashmir’s Kulgam district, security forces successfully eliminated three terrorists affiliated with Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT). The encounter, which transpired after a joint team of forces approached a suspected location, saw the militants open fire, prompting the security forces to retaliate and initiate a gunfight.
A senior police officer confirmed the demise of the three LeT militants, although their identities are yet to be determined as search operations persist in the area. The intensity of the engagement forced a suspension of the operation during the night due to darkness, with authorities exercising precautionary measures. The operation recommenced at the break of dawn to ensure the complete eradication of any remaining threats in the region.
