Renowned Bollywood actress Tabu has secured a significant role in the upcoming Hollywood series “Dune: Prophecy.” As reported by Variety, Tabu is set to portray Sister Francesca in a recurring capacity within the series, which serves as a prequel to Denis Villeneuve’s 2021 film “Dune.”
Described as a character embodying strength, intelligence, and allure, Sister Francesca’s presence promises to leave a lasting impact on the narrative. Her backstory, intricately woven into the fabric of the series, unveils her as a former love interest of the Emperor, whose return to the palace threatens to disrupt the delicate balance of power in the capital.
Originally conceptualized as “Dune: The Sisterhood,” the series draws inspiration from Brian Herbert and Kevin J. Anderson’s novel “Sisterhood of Dune.” Set a staggering 10,000 years before the events of “Dune,” the show explores the origins of the Bene Gesserit through the intertwined journeys of two Harkonnen sisters navigating the perils that endanger humanity’s destiny.
