In a devastating turn of events, Nepal was shaken by a powerful 6.4 magnitude earthquake late on Friday, claiming the lives of at least 157 people and leaving more than 160 others injured. The earthquake’s tremors were felt as far away as Delhi, underscoring its intensity. The epicenter of this seismic event was situated near Ramidanda in Jajarkot.
The most severely affected districts were Jajarkot and Rukum, where the impact of the earthquake was particularly devastating. Home ministry spokesperson Narayan Prasad Bhattarai confirmed the loss of 92 lives in Jajarkot and 40 in Rukum, painting a grim picture of the aftermath.
In response to this tragedy, Nepal’s Army and Police personnel have been actively engaged in rescue and relief operations, working tirelessly to provide support and assistance to the affected communities during this difficult time.
