Chennai, India: Renowned Tamil actor Mansoor Ali Khan has reportedly gone off the grid after being summoned by the Chennai police for making controversial and insensitive remarks against actress Trisha. His residence is reportedly locked, and attempts to contact him have been futile, as his phone remains switched off. The turn of events unfolded just hours before his scheduled appearance before the police, following accusations that led to legal action against him.
Mansoor Ali Khan faces charges under Section 354 A (sexual harassment) and Section 509 (word, gesture, or act intended to outrage modesty of woman). Simultaneously, his legal representative has filed for an anticipatory bail in court, seeking legal protection against potential arrest.
The controversy erupted when a video circulated on social media featuring Mansoor Ali Khan making objectionable comments in Tamil about Trisha. In the video, he remarked, “When I heard that I was acting with Trisha, I thought there would be a bedroom scene in the film. I thought I would carry her to the bedroom just like I did with other actresses in my earlier movies. I have done so many rape scenes, and it’s not new to me. But these guys didn’t even show Trisha to me on the sets during the shoot in Kashmir.”
Trisha responded to Mansoor’s comments with a strong condemnation, labeling them as “sexist, disrespectful, misogynistic, repulsive.” In a statement, she expressed her disapproval, stating, “A recent video has come to my attention where Mr. Mansoor Ali Khan has spoken about me in a vile manner. I strongly condemn this and find it sexist, disrespectful, misogynistic, repulsive, and in bad taste. He can keep wishing, but I am grateful never to have shared screen space with someone as pathetic as him, and I will make sure it never happens for the rest of my film career as well. People like him bring a bad name to mankind.”
