JioCinema, a leading streaming service in India, has launched new monthly subscription plans tailored for cost-conscious consumers. The platform, owned by Viacom18, now offers access to a vast library of movies and TV series from esteemed studios like HBO, Paramount, Peacock, and Warner Bros., all available in stunning 4K resolution and devoid of interruptions from advertisements. Additionally, subscribers have the convenience of downloading content for offline viewing.
Under the new subscription model, users can opt for the basic plan priced at just Rs. 29 per month, which allows streaming on a single screen. For households or individuals desiring expanded access, the ‘Family’ subscription is available at Rs. 89 per month, accommodating streaming on up to four devices simultaneously. Notably, the introductory pricing hints at potential future rates of Rs. 59 and Rs. 149 per month for individual and family plans, respectively.
Previously, JioCinema Premium was exclusively offered as an annual subscription at Rs. 999. However, with the shift to monthly plans, subscribers now have more flexibility in choosing their preferred package. Taking advantage of the current introductory rates, the personal plan effectively costs Rs. 348 annually, presenting significant savings compared to the previous annual fee. Similarly, the ‘Family’ plan amounts to Rs. 1,068 for a year, making it an appealing option for households seeking quality entertainment at an affordable price point.
The move by JioCinema to introduce these budget-friendly premium plans reflects a commitment to providing accessible and high-quality streaming experiences to Indian audiences, further intensifying competition in the streaming market.
