On Sunday, March 13th morning, Kangana Ranaut went to social media to express her gratitude for the recent release of The Kashmir Files.
The actor also said that there is a ‘pin drop silence’ inside the film industry over the film, and that many people in Bollywood are surprised by its success.
On Friday, Vivek Agnihotri’s film The Kashmir Files was released in theatres.
Critics have praised the film, which has had a solid opening weekend at the box office.
Kangana shared a lengthy note much about film on her Instagram stories saying, “Please notice the pindrop silence in theFilm industry about #thekashmirfiles.
Not just content even its business is exemplary investment and profit proportion might be such a case study that it will be the most successful and profitable film of the year.
It also broke many myths about theatres being exclusive for big budgets event films or visual/VFX spectacles post pandemic, it is breaking every myth
and preconceived notion that was there and bringing back the audiences to the theatres, 6am shows in multiplexes are full it’s unbelievable !!!”
Continuing her remark Kangana adds ‘Bullydawood‘ (a term she uses for bollywood) “aur unke chamche sadme mein chale gaye hai (Bollywood bullies and their cronies are in shock).
Not a word sari duniya dekh rahi hai inko lekin phir bhi not a word (the whole world is watching them but still they are silent). There time is upp!!“
Despite the confined release, The Kashmir Files had a solid start at the box office.
It made a bit over 3.5 crore on its first day, and it significantly increased that total on Saturday, grossing 8.5 crore.
From the first two days, it had earned a total of 12 crore.
Given that it has been shown on 700 theatres across India,
as opposed to several recent larger films that were distributed in 3000+ screens, the statistic is significant.
In a following Instagram stories clip, Kangana also mentioned Taran Adarsh’s tweet praising the film’s high box office results. In another story she lauded all the cast of The Kashmir Files movie.
She shared a clip of fans expressing their emotions after watching the film.
Kangana Ranaut said last week that Alia Bhatt’s new flick Gangubai Kathiawadi exaggerated the box office numbers with “fake facts.”
Kangana has previously praised The Kashmir Files, describing it as “the most significant film of the year.”
The tale of the Kashmiri Pandits’ departure from the Kashmir Valley in the late 1980s and early 1990s is told in this film.
Anupam Kher, Mithun Chakraborty, Pallavi Joshi, Darshan Kumaar, and Bhasha Sumbli are among the cast members.
