In a cinematic triumph, Salman Khan, Katrina Kaif, and Emraan Hashmi starrer Tiger 3 are rewriting box office records worldwide. Directed by Maneesh Sharma, the spy thriller, released on November 12th, has not only made an explosive start but has consistently outperformed several successful Bollywood releases of 2023. Despite the challenging timing of its release on Laxmi Pujan, traditionally considered a subdued day for business, the film still managed an impressive 44.50 crores in India on the first day. The momentum continued with a remarkable jump to 59.25 crores on the second day and a respectable 44.75 crores on the partial holiday of the third day.

Tiger 3 has already etched its place in the annals of Bollywood box office history with an opening weekend of 148.50 crores net in India, equivalent to 180.50 crores gross. Internationally, the film secured the biggest opening ever for a Bollywood production, although it experienced a slight decline on the subsequent day. Nevertheless, the overall global total after three days stands at an impressive 240 crores gross, averaging over 75 crores gross daily. This positions Tiger 3 as one of the highest-grossing films of 2023 in Bollywood.

In a remarkable feat, Tiger 3 has surpassed the lifetime collections of notable films such as OMG 2 (220 crores gross) and Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar (221.28 crores gross). It is now on the verge of eclipsing The Kerala Story (293.25 crores gross), with Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani’s (348.89 crores gross) record also within striking distance.

For Salman Khan, this success marks a significant comeback, with Tiger 3 surpassing Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan’s 185.50 crores gross in just three days. The anticipation now builds to see if it can surpass the monumental success of Sunny Deol’s Gadar 2 (685.19 crores gross) with an open run until the arrival of Animal on December 1st.
