Neetu Kapoor, attending a special screening of her son Ranbir Kapoor’s latest release, Animal, expressed her emotions in an Instagram story a day after the film hit theaters. The veteran actress shared a poignant still from the movie and wrote, “Wish Rishi ji was here,” referring to her late husband, actor Rishi Kapoor, who passed away in April 2020.

The special screening, held earlier this week in Mumbai, witnessed the presence of notable personalities such as Alia Bhatt, Shaheen Bhatt, Mahesh Bhatt, and Soni Razdan. Neetu Kapoor’s heartfelt sentiment adds a personal touch to Ranbir’s latest cinematic venture.

Directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, known for Arjun Reddy, Animal boasts a stellar cast, including Ranbir Kapoor, Rashmika Mandanna, Anil Kapoor, Bobby Deol, and Triptii Dimrii in pivotal roles. The film faced box office competition with Vicky Kaushal’s Sam Bahadur, earning an impressive Rs 61 crore on its release day.

While Animal opened to mixed reviews, with film critic Saibal Chatterjee giving it 1.5 stars out of 5, citing the film as a “sickeningly violent father-son action drama,” Neetu Kapoor’s poignant reflection adds a layer of personal significance to Ranbir’s cinematic endeavors.
