RRR, starring Jr NTR and Ram Charan, got released in cinemas today, March 25. The magnum opus brings together two of Telugu cinema’s finest actors. The much-anticipated film, that has a staggering budget of Rs. 300 crore, is likely to launch to a worldwide box office of Rs 200-250 crore.
RRR IS EXPECTING A MASSIVE OPENING.
RRR is expecting to have a huge opening weekend, with data coming from Rs 200 crore to Rs 250 crore. Ramesh Bala, a trade analyst, told News18 that they expect a Rs 100 crore opening in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.
According to Ramesh Bala, Karnataka is expecting to earn Rs 10 to Rs 15 crore at the box office, while Tamil Nadu will collect Rs 10 crore. On the other hand, Kerala seems to make for a Rs 4 crore opening box – office for RRR.
RRR is creating a lot of buzz, according to trade expert Girish Johar. Discussing about RRR’s performance evaluation, he said, “The movie could pull Rs 13-15 crore but publicity could affect the opening numbers. If publicity is positive, the box office collection may increase.”
Baahubali had captured a humongous Rs 40 crore opening during the time of its release. Nothing at all is set in stone, though, since Covid has wreaked havoc on the entertainment industry.
Girish Johar believes times have transformed and the market scenario is totally different now. RRR is heading in a post-Covid era, so there are a number of factors at play right now.
