In a shocking incident in Goa, Suchana Seth, the 39-year-old CEO of an AI start-up, stands accused of murdering her four-year-old son in a service apartment in Candolim. The arrest unfolded dramatically, with a taxi driver named Ray John playing a pivotal role in assisting the police.
Detailing the chilling journey, John revealed that Seth maintained an eerie calm throughout the more than 10-hour drive from Goa to Karnataka. The taxi driver, speaking to reporters in Candolim, disclosed that despite the heaviness of the bag containing the lifeless body, Seth remained tight-lipped and did not utter a single word.
The arrest occurred in Chitradurga, Karnataka, on Monday night, as Seth traveled in the taxi with her son’s body discreetly concealed in a bag. Following the arrest, she was brought back to Goa, where a Mapusa town court granted a six-day police custody.
John recounted the unsettling incident, describing how the service apartment staff had booked his taxi for Seth. Upon reaching the apartment, he offered to lighten the heavy bag, but Seth refused, insisting it be taken as is. The only time she spoke during the journey was to request a bottle of water in Bicholim town, North Goa.
As the taxi encountered a massive traffic jam at Chorla ghat on the Karnataka-Goa border, John, sensing something amiss, suggested rerouting to the airport. However, Seth adamantly insisted on continuing the journey by road. This raised suspicions, prompting John to receive a call from Goa police, advising him that there was something suspicious about his passenger.
This harrowing tale underscores the crucial role played by a vigilant cab driver in assisting law enforcement authorities in the arrest of a high-profile murder suspect, shedding light on the tragic circumstances surrounding the alleged killing of a young child in Goa.
