In a recent exclusive conversation with IndiaToday.In, actor Manjot Singh, renowned for his roles in films like Oye Lucky! Lucky Oye! and Fukrey, shed light on the intriguing details surrounding his decision to decline a role in the much-anticipated movie, Animal, featuring Ranbir Kapoor. Despite a successful 2023 with hits like Dream Girl 2 and Fukrey 3, Manjot revealed that he respectfully chose not to be part of the project and shared the reasoning behind his decision.
Opening up about the character he was approached for, Manjot disclosed, “I went to meet Sandeep Reddy Vanga, and there he briefed me about the character. The role was that of one of Ranbir’s cousins, whom he encounters when he visits his ‘pind’ (village) in Punjab. Interestingly, the character in the film shared the same name as mine, Manjot. At that point in time, I did not have much insight into the character. All I was informed about was that his name is the same as mine.”
Despite the intriguing prospect of joining the cast of Animal, Manjot Singh elaborated on the factors that led to his decision. The actor expressed his respect for director Sandeep Reddy Vanga, stating that he was prepared to take on the role out of respect for the filmmaker. However, in a surprising turn of events, he was advised otherwise by Vanga himself.
