Miss Mexico, Miss South Africa, and Miss Puerto Rico entered the final round of the competition which was ‘Final Words’. The contestants were asked the same question and only 45 seconds to answer. The question was, “What is the most important thing we should be teaching young girls today.”

And the answer which won hearts of the judges was that of Zozibini Tunzi. She said, “I think the most important thing is leadership. It’s something that’s been lacking in young girls and women for a long time. Not because we don’t want to, but because of what society has labelled us to be. I think we are the most powerful beings in the world.”

Even before the winner was announced, Twitterati went on to declare Miss South Africa as their favourite for her elegance, poise, and power. For her crowning moment, Miss South Africa opted for a stunning sequin gold and silver figure-hugging dress. She completed her look with chandelier diamond earrings; she looked beautiful with glossy lips and oodles of mascara.

The 26-year-old winner hails from Tsolo and has described herself as a ‘passionate activist’ who wants to fight the battle against gender-based violence. Her biography notes read as, “She is a proud advocate for natural beauty and encourages women to love themselves the way they are.” Miss Universe 2019 will be the first titleholder to wear the new crown, The Power of Unity.
