Actor Pearl V Puri who has been charged under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) act was granted bail on June 15 after being arrested on June 4 by Mumbai Police.
Even though many celebrities came to his support earlier Pearl had not made any public statement. Now after his arrest, the actor for the first time has broken his silence on the whole matter. He took to his Instagram to share a post on the matter.
The actor in his post writes, “Life has its own way of testing people! I lost my nani maa few months back, then on her 17 day I lost my dad. Post that my mother got diagnosed with cancer and then this ghastly accusation. Last couple of weeks were gruelling for me like a nightmare. I was, overnight made feel like a criminal. All of this in midst of my mother’s cancer treatment, it shattered my sense of security, making me feel helpless. I am still numb…but I felt it’s time to reach out to my friends, fans and well-wishers who have showered me with their love, support and concern. Thank you for keeping faith in me and I am a firm believer of #Satyamevjatate. I trust in the law, judiciary of my country and God up there. Please keep your duas coming”.
After Pearl V Puri’s arrest, many celebrities including his co-stars such as Divya Khosla Kumar, Ekta Kapoor, Surbhi Jyoti, Nia Sharma Anita Hassanandani and Krystle D’Souza among others have come in support of the actor and demanded justice for him on social media. Divya Khosla Kumar also went on sharing a series of posts and went on making some shocking revelations about the whole case mentioning Pearl is being falsely accused and punished because of a marital conflict between the alleged victim’s estranged parents.
According to lawyer of the minor’s father her medical examination, which was conducted at Nair Hospital in presence of her mother proved she was molested. Minor also reportedly picked Puri’s picture out of the many pictures shown to her during the investigation. The girl allegedly complained about the incident to her father, after which he went to the police. However Aarti Puri who is a family member of the minor’s mother Ekta Sharma claimed that Pearl was being framed by the girl’s father to win an ongoing custody battle.
According to Vasai DCP Sanjay Kumar Patil there is evidence against Peral that is why the police have arrested him. He reassured that the truth will be decided in the trial.
