In a critical response to the alarming breach of security in Parliament, Prime Minister Narendra Modi convened a high-level meeting with top ministers this morning. The incident unfolded yesterday, leading to the adjournment of both Houses as the Opposition demanded answers regarding the breach.

Here are key details from the unfolding situation:

Legal Charges: The four individuals implicated in the Parliament security breach have been charged under the stringent Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) in addition to sections of the Indian Penal

Accused Profile: Among the arrested individuals are Sagar Sharma and D Manoranjan, who deployed yellow smoke canisters inside the Lok Sabha. Neelam Devi and Amol Shinde, responsible for releasing red and yellow canisters outside Parliament, complete the list. Additionally, Lalit Jha, who recorded videos of the incident, is currently on the run, while Vicky Sharma, who allegedly sheltered the accused, has been detained with his wife.

Social Media Connection: Delhi Police’s investigation reveals that all accused were associated with a social media group named Bhagat Singh Fan Club.

Pre-Planning: The accused reportedly convened in Mysore about one-and-a-half years ago to discuss their plan, with another meeting occurring nine months ago at a farmers’ protest near Chandigarh airport.

Execution of Plan: Sagar Sharma, who visited Delhi from Lucknow in July, meticulously observed the Parliament’s security checks. The accused arrived in Delhi this Sunday and stayed at Vicky’s Gurugram residence. Smoke canisters were sourced by Amol Shinde from Maharashtra, distributed among the group at India Gate on the day of the incident.

Parliament Entry: While all six individuals aspired to enter Parliament, only Sagar Sharma and Manoranjan managed to secure passes, gaining access at noon yesterday.

Disruptive Scenes: The Lok Sabha witnessed shocking scenes as Sagar Sharma jumped from the visitors’ gallery into the chamber, releasing a yellow smoke canister. Simultaneously, Manoranjan deployed another canister before being subdued. Outside, Neelam and Amol burst canisters, raising slogans against “dictatorship.”

Investigation: The Delhi Police’s anti-terror cell is currently interrogating the accused. Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla has reassured MPs of their safety, emphasizing a comprehensive investigation. Notably, the security breach occurred on the anniversary of the 2001 Parliament attack.

Legal Charges: IPC charges include criminal conspiracy, promoting enmity, and using force to prevent a public servant from executing duty.

This unprecedented breach underscores the urgency of addressing security vulnerabilities in Parliament, with authorities committed to a thorough investigation.
